3 Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast,  you will be picked up from your accommodation and drive westwards, to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. You will make a stopover at the Equator for toilet break, do the water experiment and look at the crafts. Later on you proceed to Mbarara for another stopover for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center or Agip Motel.

After that proceed on to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. The park is about 450 kilometers West of Kampala and the journey takes about 8 hours. The drive takes you through rolling hills of Mbarara and Kabale as you head to Ruhija sector of the park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is where the rare and endangered mountain gorillas are found. Arrive at the park in the evening and check-in to the service of Trekkers’ Tervan Cottages, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Forest

In this natural environment, you wake up to a beautiful view of the Sunrise over the misty Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The Mountain Gorillas are some of the precious jewels in the Pearl of Africa. Have breakfast at about 7:00am, with our packed lunch, we move to the park offices for registration and briefing.

Then start the highlight of this tour, the gorilla trekking activity in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Gorilla trekking can be challenging in that sometimes you climb steep hills under muddy conditions. It’s unpredictable how long this will take because it always depends on the movement of these great Apes.

There are many factors that determine the movement of the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Food availability is one of them, as they normally move to their favorite fruiting trees, one after the other.   Also their daily activities and interactions with the other wild groups, but generally the activity takes between 2 – 8 hours. From there you go back to the lodge after the trekking, relax around dinner and Overnight at Trekkers’ Tervan Cottages.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Kampala

After breakfast we drive back to Kampala, with stopovers/toilet breaks at Kabale and Mbarara, lunch en-route. Have another stopover at the Equator for the water experiment and look at the craft shops. We later proceed on to Entebbe and check into your place of accommodation or drive straight to the Airport for your flight home.
