Day-by-Day Breakdown

Days 1–2: Arrival & Jinja

Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe: Airport pickup, guide briefing, transfer to accommodation, optional city tour depending on flight timing. Overnight at Forest Cottages.

Day 2 – Source of the Nile & Sezibwa Falls: Drive to Jinja via Mukono, stopping at Sezibwa Falls (a site of spiritual significance). Visit the Source of the Nile for lunch, with an optional stop at Itanda Falls. Return to Kampala for the night.

Days 3–4: Rhinos & Chimpanzees (North)

Day 3 – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: Travel through rural homesteads to Ziwa, arriving early afternoon for rhino trekking. Continue to Masindi for overnight.

Day 4 – Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Trekking: Enter Murchison Falls National Park with a mini game drive en route to Kaniyo Pabidi for chimpanzee trekking (roughly 3 hours). Afternoon visit to the top of Murchison Falls. Overnight at Fort Murchison.

Days 5–6: Murchison Falls National Park

Day 5 – Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise: Morning game drive (3–4 hours) targeting elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, and leopards, plus over 450 recorded bird species including the shoebill stork. Afternoon boat cruise on the Nile for close-up wildlife viewing and views of the Falls from below.

Day 6 – Delta Launch & Transfer to Hoima: Morning boat cruise to the Nile Delta for another shoebill stork opportunity. Afternoon drive to Hoima via the Bulisa escarpment, with views over Lake Albert and the Albertine Rift Valley. Overnight at Hotel Kolping.

Days 7–8: Kibale Forest

Day 7 – Hoima to Kibale: Drive through homesteads and the tea plantations around Fort Portal (Kabarole), arriving in the evening. Overnight at Kibale Primate Lodge.

Day 8 – Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking: Registration and briefing at park offices, followed by trekking (~3 hours) through one of East Africa’s oldest forests, home to five primate species (black-and-white colobus, red colobus, red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey) and the rare green-breasted pitta. Afternoon nature walk in Bigodi Wetland.

Days 9–10: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 9 – Kibale to Queen Elizabeth NP: Scenic drive through the Crater Lakes region and along the Rwenzori foothills, with lunch in Kasese. Enter the park with a mini game drive; free afternoon at the lodge.

Day 10 – Kasenyi Plains Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise: Early morning game drive for elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, hyenas, lions, and leopards — the park holds one of the highest bird counts in the world (around 612 species). Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for close wildlife sightings.

Days 11–12: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 11 – QENP to Bwindi: Stop at Katwe salt lake to see traditional salt extraction methods. Continue via the Ishasha sector, known for tree-climbing lions, arriving in Bwindi by evening. Overnight at Gorilla Resort.

Day 12 – Gorilla Trekking: Registration and briefing at park offices, followed by the safari’s centerpiece activity — gorilla trekking through muddy, hilly terrain, lasting anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ location.

Days 13–14: Lake Mburo & Departure

Day 13 – Bwindi to Lake Mburo NP: Drive through the rolling hills of Kigezi and Ankole. Enter the park with a mini game drive, followed by a boat cruise on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles, elands, sitatungas, monitor lizards, and birdlife including the rare African finfoot.

Day 14 – Nature Walk & Departure: Morning nature walk along the lake shore in search of zebras, impalas, reedbuck, klipspringers, buffaloes, and leopards. Return to Kampala/Entebbe in the afternoon, with transfer to your accommodation or the airport depending on flight schedule.
