Birding on a game drive( Murchison falls)
Viewing birds is difficult from a moving vehicle. Stopping and finding a shady spot near a flowering tree can be very rewarding. Because of the mixed habitat near the river, seeing over 150 different species in a few hours would not be out of the ordinary. the area close to the river is dotted with wallows and waterholes, ducks, geese, stilts and plovers often find their way to these spots, Warthogs and buffaloes are never far away from wallows and here are invariably elephants browsing around. Stopping, listening and watching are essential bush practice. look for evidence; it is incredible what the dust or the mud of the road can reveal about animals and birds in the area.
