Uganda Wildlife Education Center

(UWEC) OFFERS TO MAKE CHILDREN AND ADULTS APPRECIATE WILDLIFE.

As the theme was,“Listen To The Young Voices” Uganda wildlife education Centre (uwec) organized an open invitation to children and adults given that almost one quarter of the world’s population is aged between 10 and 24 and therefore, vigorous effort need to be made to encourage young people, as the future leaders and decision makers of the world, to act at both local and global levels to protect endangered wildlife. It was a half day guided expedition at the center to mark the world wildlife day and adults, secondary schools and universities joined the young crowd explore the offerings at the country’s biggest wildlife education Centre, in Entebbe.

Guides explained about the residents of the Centre from the crested crane, the brilliant African grey parrots, the colorful peacock, the rhinos, the chimpanzees, the reptiles, the lions, monkeys to mention but a few. Interestingly these souls (children) had a chance to interact with the state minister for tourism Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi and made some cool photo shoots. Children were given chance to ask questions about animals, reptiles, birds and the Centre at large. Chimps on site excited the children as they played with them and also took photos, they also enjoyed seeing these apes feeding and how they displayed their human traits.

Indeed some of them appreciated the beauty in the well maintained walkways, the forested homestead that forms a canopy with old trees that provide shelter to these animals and birds. Conclusively, speech by the UWEC’s executive director James Musinguzi was geared at protecting the endangered wildlife species and therefore appreciating wildlife.

We also offer group safaris to Chinese tourists and other travelers, for birding, Gorilla trekking, wildlife and cultural excursions to the East African Countries, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.
